## Which test to use?

I have a study whereby I asked two groups of participants (Clients (N=76) and Professionals (N=62) what qualities would make a treatment interaction positive and what qualities would make a treatment interaction negative. As part of my analysis I have totalled:
- the number of positive qualities identified by all clients = 317
- the number of negative qualities identified by all clients = 293
- the number of positive qualities identified by all professionals = 441
- the number of negative qualities identified by all professionals = 380

Based on this I have made two claims:
1. Both client and professionals called to mind more positive qualities than negative qualities (M = 4.03, 6.52 respectively)
2. There was no significant difference between clients and healthcare professionals in terms of the numbers of positive and negative qualities identified χ2 (1, N = 1431) = 0.43, p = 0.51.

You will notice I have used a chi square test to support the first question, as advised by my supervisor. My question is what statistical test would I use to support the first statement?
