    By looking in the mirror and saying, "confidence interval, confidence interval, confidence interval"! You need to provide much more information, there are many types of confidence intervals and they are not all calculated the same way given the distributions used.

    Generally speaking, a confidence interval is an:

    Estimate +(-) a Constant.

    Thus, an Estimate could be a statistic under consideration such as a mean, the difference between two means, correlation coefficient, variance, etc.

    The Constant is made up of two parts: A critical value associated with the sampling distribution of the statistic under consideration multiplied by the standard error of the estimate (for the statistic of concern).
