    Multiple Regression Help !!

A team of researchers believed that parental expectations (PE), emotionality (E) and fear of negative evaluation (FNE) promoted social anxiety (SA). They theorised that high parental expectations were a primary cause of high social anxiety, as children developed expectations of failure and this transferred to anxiety in social situations. They believed high levels of emotionality and fear of negative evaluation to be secondary causes of high social anxiety, as both of these characteristics were thought to result from high parental expectations. It had also been suggested to the researchers that these secondary causes might even interact to further exacerbate social anxiety, and they wanted to find out if this was true.

They conducted a multiple regression analysis in SPSS to explore their research aims

Q1. What might represent an alternative to multiple regression as a method of analysis for examining the research aims?

How is the dependent variable SA measured? If its on an interval scale then structured equation models seems best. Regression would work as well.
