1. ## Central tendency

the mean and median of 100 items are 50 and 52 respectively. the value of the largest item is 100. it was later found that it is actually 110. find the true mean and median?

I suppose that the value of the median wouldn't change. because the Median doesn't depend on the values which locate in the beginning and the end of the data, I guess just the mean's value would change because it depends on all the observations.

the corrected mean can be found by adjusting the sum of the observations. that can be done by multiplying the wrong(old) mean by the number of observation(100).that can result the wrong sum of observations..we can then subtract the incorrect largest value and add the correct largest value to obtain the correct sum of observations and then calculate the new correct mean.

It all seems right. In some scenarios you may have rounding errors if the mean was not a whole number.
