    Kruskal Walis & Wilcoxon test

Hi all, it would be so kind if someone could explain to me as to why both equations, Kruskal Walis and Wilcoxon, consists of the number 12?

The number 12 is used in both equations, either (something / 12) or (12 / something).

It will be a great help to me! Thank you in advance!

If you want to do a bunch of mathematics, it seems to say that equation can be inserted as a substitution.
