    Identical probability denisty function help needed




    Hello everybody

    Iam struggling with this question, i find this topic hard to understand
    here is the question

    Let X and Y be two independent random variables with identical
    probability density function given by
    f(x)= (3*(x^2))/θ if 0<x<θ
    for some θ>0. What is the probability density function of W = min{X, Y }?

    Please provide me with answered steps and explanation, so i can understand this topic

    For these kinds of things it's typically easier to try to answer it by using the CDF instead of the pdf. Although a direct approach integrating the joint density isn't out of the question when you only have two random variables...
    I don't have emotions and sometimes that makes me very sad.
