hi with the question i have i got the process down. However i know if i got the formula wrong the whole answer is incorrect.
With the Question i want to know if the data included is either nominal data or interval data- so i would have to perform either a z test or t test.
Heres part of the question:
Excessive moisture can cause granules attached to the shingle for texture and coloring purposes to fall off the shingle, resulting in appearance problems. To monitor the amount of moisture present, the company conducts moisture tests. A shingle is weighed and then dried. The shingle is then reweighed, and, based on the amount of moisture taken out of the product, the pounds of moisture per 100 square feet are calculated. The company would like to show that the mean moisture content is less than 0.27 pounds per 100 square feet.
So i just want to know what type of data this is and if i would use a t test or ztest. aLSO WOULD A P VALUE BE RELEVANT HERE?
THANK YOU FOR ANY HELP YOU CAN GIVE.
