Please clarify you response variable.
your catergories are:
1) first movement and
2) eventual behaviour
is this correct?
Hi all,
First time poster here...a newbie...
Im trying to work out the best way to analyse my data, and *think* that repeated measures ANOVA might be the best idea.
Im trying to determine whether there is a relationship between -
- handedness (I have a continuous variable (Z score) or a categorical variable (left, right, ambi) OR I can simply do 'preference' vs 'no preference' - realistically I'd like to look at all of these eventually).
- the first movement most commonly made in a particular situation (so again there are 4 categorical variables - no pref, left, straight, right).
- the eventual behaviour (left, middle, right)
Sorry if that is confusing - hard to describe without describing the whole study down!
Anyway, what I have done is look at the 'eventual behaviour' as the Within subjects factor (3 levels), the 'first movement' as the Between-Subject factor, and the covariate as the Z-Score (handedness)...
Does this sound like the best way to do this? Basically, I hypothesised that the handedness score will be associated with the eventual behaviour. As a secondary hypothesis I predicted that the first movement will be correlated with the eventual behaviour.
Thanks for any help!
Cheers,
Noeyedeer!

Thats right...
I have the eventual behaviour (3 categories) as my Within-Subjects factor...
The Between-Subject factor is the first movement (4 categories)...
Im not sure if this is right...I did this based on some other advice I received, so if you believe there is a better option, I'd love to hear it
Essentially the question is - is there a relationship between handedness and one's eventual behaviour? Also, is there a relationship between handedness and ones first movement? Finally, is the first movement and the eventual behaviour correlated?
So I have added an extra question in there
Thanks so much for responding!
Hmm...just looking at this forum - it seems that each question gets tonnes of views but hardly any replies! If anyone knows the answer to my query, it would be great to have some advice...and Im sure others would appreciate it too.
Or maybe all the members are only members because they are seeing help - guilty!!!
