1. ## Stats Project

Hi,

I am doing a statistical project in one medium size European city. The main reason for the project is to find out “Are cigarette butts the main reason of the street dirtiness?" . We also wanted to compare 2 districts of the city, actually 2 main shopping streets. So we took 100's of photos (1 m2)- so that we can later count the "dirt" in a comfort of our home. Anyway after we collected a data , we would like to see how far can we go with tests. I mean which test to use (except Hypothesis testing). What else could we also prove with these data?

Thank you!

2. Jiminy cricket, what a unique project!

How have you defined 'dirtiness'? Is there an established measurement device or definition?

I'm not sure that your research question is all that conducive to inferential statistics - what proportion of overall dirtiness would cigarette butts need to comprise to be the 'main' reason, after all? :O

3. Well if we take a picture of 1m2 and count "dirt" (gum's, papers, butts...) for example of 20 different peaces (gums, papers, butts) at that 1m2, lets say 7 peaces is cigarette butt? So i think it is quite clear?
