So for a project we measured the acceleration on various aspects of 2 rowing machines.. one on sliders and one stationary (we measured it three times.. on the handle, on the machine itself and on the body itself)..
What we did was looked at the beginning and end of eight strokes and took the acceleration (measured with a Wii remote) at ten points in each stroke.
Ideally, we're going to head to the water soon to test it out there for a "gold standard" of sorts.
I guess my question is how do I analyze my data for both situations (gold standard and no gold standard)?
We thought we could just run a paired t-test on the averages of each 10% of the stroke to compare each part of the stroke between the two machines but one of the data sets turned out to not be normal.
I hope this was clear enough to understand... if not, just let me know what needs clarifying or additional information.
Many thanks in advance for the help.
