I inherited a project to monitor ground cover. The sampling design consists of 50 plots. For each plot there are five potential ground cover categories with each category potentially ranging from 0 to 100%, with a total for the plot of 100%. These plots are checked every few years. Question: How do I determine if there is a change in ground cover over time, and what type of Power Analysis do I use to determine if the current design will be enable me detect changes in ground cover in the future?
