Help needed! Absolute or relative changes?

I would like to compare the changes in salt excretion caused by a saline infusion in a group of patients studied under high sodium and low sodium intake.

I am going to use a paired samples t-test, but should I use the absolute changes or the relative changes?

The salt excretion is significantly lower during low salt intake at baseline.
