ANCOVA?

#1
I want to compare scores (numeric value) between two groups, and want to control for gender and income status (both coded as dummy variables). Can I use ANCOVA with gender and income status (categorical variable) as covariates? If not, what analysis should I use? Thanks!

You can perform a multifactorial ANOVA with 3 factors, Inder to take into account gender and income status. You will have to decide whether you want to include interactions between the covariates and the group variable into your model.

If I want to include 4 covariates (all dummy coding), is it still appropriate to run multifactorial ANOVA? Thank you!

If you perform an ANOVA, then there is no need to convert income status into several dummy variables first.
Just enter the income variable with its 4 levels as a factor.
