Could someone offer a helping hand? I don’t want my information to be inaccurate, so how could I go about this?

I recommend that you search for Kaiser Fung's blogs and for Andrew Gelman's blogs. Both of them have blogged repeatedly on the problems of coronavirus numbers. Kaiser has two blogs. One on data visualization, the other on data science. The latter has more detailed criticisms that should help you. Kaiser's blog is in layman language. Andrew's blog is more technical.

It appears to be the same person. However, regardless of whether this is true, he makes very good points on his blogs.
