# Density function is searched

Hello,

I calculate the position and want to make a quality statement.
After a target-actual comparison, I have a position error in the X and Y axis.
I assume that the deviations in the X and Y axes are normally distributed and statistically independent.
Now I calculate the total error (Euclidean distance):
Ri = sqrt(dxi^2+dyi^2)
with
dx,dy = deviations in the X and Y axes,
i = for each measurment

Which density function do I get now? It is a Rayleigh probability density function?

Any help would be much appreciated.
