Help in running package "psych"

Hello!
I need your help to run the package "psych"
I download it but when I run

> install.packages("psych")

I get a message

> install.packages("psych")

The downloaded packages are in
	'/tmp/Rtmpry2wCg/downloaded_packages'

It does not let me extract it either.

Also, does anyone use the mailing list of R, I subscribed but I have NO idea how to access older mails to search.

I take it you're new to R? You might want to read a beginner's guide - there are a few recommended in the "Info for R users" thread.

You don't have any problems. You installed the package just fine. But before you use it you need to load it -

library(psych)

I tried some of the functions of the package and they had errors, so I supposed that something was wrong with the installation. The output box did not give an indication that the library was loaded fine.
I 'll try again tomorrow and I will come back.

When you load a library there is usually no indicator that it loaded alright. What kind of errors did you have? Maybe you fed in something that wasn't expected so the function could do its job properly.
