Interaction term

#1
Hello everyone,

I just wanted to ask a question about interaction terms in a regression equation.

Putting two terms into an interaction term in a regression analysis means that; each variable influences the outcome variable together. That means one of them has an impact on the outcome variable depending on the other.

Statistically is there any other meaning on that interaction term apart from having the influence on depending variable together. Or any restrictions not putting them into an interaction term?

I hope my question makes sense :/

Thanks in advance :)

That is it, you may see it couched as the effect is conditional. There are are also multiplicative and additive interactions.
