LMatrix SPSS Syntax Questions

#1
Hi all,

New to the forum. I'm very uneducated about SPSS and statistics, so please bear with me.

I'm trying to test if there is an interaction between 2 different IV and 1 DV. One IV has 3 levels, while the other has 2.

I want to test the interaction of both the IV's on the DV. I'm also supposed to test the main effects. I need to take apart the interaction if it is significant.

I'm clueless about this entire process. I've been trying just about everything with little results. Is the only way to test this through the syntax of SPSS? I finally got SPSS to spit out the graph with all the IV's and how they matched up on the DV. I still do not understand what the sum of squares means in this case nor where to find Levene's test. I'm not sure what to do basically!

If someone can please PM me with some pointers, I'd be very grateful.

Thanks.

You can use the LMatrix command, but EMMeans is easier.

Yes, use syntax. You can't get the comparisons to break down the interaction using menus.

/EMMEANS=TABLES(x1*x2) COMPARE(X1)
