[Minitab] Performing Fisher's Exact Test

Hi all!

I have a question pertaining on how to perform a Fisher's Exact Test using Minitab. I know you can do it by going "Stat > Tables > Cross Tabulation and Chi-Square > Other Stats" in Minitab. However, I am not sure how to enter the number in Minitab (spreadsheet), in turns of laying them out, to get it working. When I open the program under Columns, Rows and Layers, what should I input in there?

You need your raw data in the spreadsheet. C1 could be the row variable and C2 the column variable. Here is an example.

C1 C2
yes male
yes female
no female
no male

Make sure each row represents a subject. Then put C1 in Rows and C2 in Columns.

Consider the following 2X2 table:

r1: 1, 9
r2: 11, 3


You'll need to create 3 columns, say, C1, C2, and C3.

Put the frequencies counts in C1 i.e. 1, 9, 11, 3

C2 is for rows so you would have 1, 1, 2, 2

C3 is for columns so you would have 1, 2, 1, 2.

Frequencies are in: C1

And, that should do it.
