MIXED model syntax - simple main effects

#1
Hi!

I am running a mixed effects models in spss and have found a significant interaction between session and sex. I now wants to examine the simple effects for sex and I've been trying the below syntax but keeping getting the following warning message:

"The symbol sex was found following the TABLES keyword in the EMMEANS subcommand. A factor name was expected."

This is the syntax I've been trying to use;

MIXED PA_log BY Session WITH sex
/CRITERIA=CIN(95) MXITER(100) MXSTEP(10) SCORING(1) SINGULAR(0.000000000001) HCONVERGE(0, ABSOLUTE) LCONVERGE(0, ABSOLUTE) PCONVERGE(0.000001, ABSOLUTE)
/FIXED=Session sex Session*sex | SSTYPE(3)
/METHOD=REML
/PRINT=SOLUTION TESTCOV
/RANDOM=INTERCEPT | SUBJECT(Family_ID) COVTYPE(UN)
/RANDOM=INTERCEPT | SUBJECT(Family_ID*Individual_ID) COVTYPE(UN)
/EMMEANS=TABLES(sex*session) COMPARE(sex).

Does anyone know why I may be experiencing these problems or have alternative suggestions as to how I may establish the simple main effect of sex?

I look forward to your reply.

Thanks!
