Multivariate analysis - help

#1
Hi,

I'm looking at place of death in a group of people, I have information on where they died, what they died of, their ethnicity, the area of residence and age group. I'm using STATA to run the XI: logit command and have been using just single variables to conduct univariate analysis.

Can I use all of the variables above to determine what really affects place of death if so what is the benefit of using multivariate analysis over repeated univariate analysis?

Thanks in advance
