I am a newbie here and has some simple probability, just would like to gauge how far i am...

A match can be won with two ways:

(1) score 11 points first

(2) if level after **10** points (i.e. "level at 10-10"), must win by 2 clear points.

Player A & B play badminton with the probability of A winning any given game = p. whats the probability of player A (as a function of p) winning a match under each circumstances?

2 circumstances are independent,

(1) 1st scenarios - player wins as long you reach 11 points first

(2) 2nd scenarios is also the same as winning 11 points first, but if draw at 10-10, then need to win by at least 2 points...
