Quick question, I no idea with stats

HbA1c was associated inversely with carbohydrate and
natural sugar, and positively with protein and unsaturated fat.
Can any translate this. Thanks

The higher HbA1c in a study subject, the lower carbohydrate and natural sugar.

The higher HbA1c in a subject, the higher also protein and unsaturated fat.

Less is more. Stay pure. Stay poor.
Directionality probably isn't a huge thing here since we are talking about associations, but the relationship may have been flipped, meaning the lower the carb or glucose the higher the A1c value.
