school project

I am doing a project for school and am in need of some advice. I want to do something to do with the gubernatorial primary election in NJ which is on june 2, and my idea was to go around my town (which is a 2-square mile town) on may 31 and count how many lawn signs for each of the 3 republican candidates there are. Then after the results of the election comes out i would do a Chi Square test to determine if there is a relationship between the amount of signs a candidate has and the amount of votes they got.

Any comments, suggestions? Would that be a good idea for a project, cus i really want to do something involving the gubernatorial primarys in NJ and that was the idea i came up with.
