STATISTICS EASY PROBLEM help

how many ways can you arrange a 3 digit number if first number cant be 0 and no numbers can be repeated. My guess is 9*8*7 which equals 504. BUT PLEASE HELP :) thank you

the first number can be chosen out of 9 because 0 can not be used. But why wozld you exclude 0 from the second digit?
