Hi,

Could somebody kindly "translate" the following expression in to plain English?

"Technique which measures item loadings on their expected constructs"

I am very new to statistical analysis and ambitiously decided to apply structural modeling technique to my dissertation research and struggling to understand some of the terms and their meaning...

Thanks a lot in advance.

It sounds like SEM or factor analysis most likely; expected tells me confirmatory factor analysis. This is looking for structure that points to a construct (the thing you're measuring like IQ, ability etc). The loadings are likely factor loadings. This stuff falls under psychometric study.

This refers to independent cluster confirmatory factor analysis. In simple terms each item loads onto only the latent factor it was designed to measure.
