Symmetric or not?

#1
I know that when the mean and the median is close in values to each other, the distribution will be symmetric. But how close should they be? I have a mean of 62.94 and a median of 61.50. I would assume that the shape would be symmetric. But I look at the skewness and the kurtosis and they are 1.409 and 4.540 respectively. From the skewness data, it looks like a positive skew. Please clarify. Thank you!

In order for the distribution to be symmetric, the mean and median need to be exactly the same.

The distribution you describe has a slight positive skew.
