Using Stata for Card and Krueger's minimum wage: need help with "reshape" variables.

#1
I have this question about the where I have a data set based on Card and Krueger's minimum wage study in New Jersey and Pennsylvania and how it effects employment. I've done these commands.

rename psoda psoda1
rename pfries pfries1
rename hrsopen hrsopen1
rename emp emp1
rename NJ NJ1
gNj2=NJ1
keep emp* psoa* hrsopen* NJ*
g id_n
reshape long emp psoda pfries hrsopen NJ, i(id) j(time).

I'm suppose to performing cross-section, before-after comparison and difference in difference estimation to estimate after the intervention (time=2) to find the mean effect of treatment on employment (emp) using psoda, pfries and hrsopen as controls.

I've been trying endlessly to get the commands that I need, but I'm failing. I could use some help from anyone who knows how to use this program! :( Sorry it's long but I wawnted to provide enough background info...

It sounds like you need to -xtset id- to tell Stata that you have cross-sectional data clustered on id, and then use -xtreg- to run your regressions.
