Which ANOVA to use? one-way repeated measures ANOVA test, or a two-way multi-variate

#1
Problem 1

Research Question 1: What effect does providing captions while learners are watching a video have on their comprehension of the video?

Participants will be assigned to one of the following groups:

(control group) view Video A and Video B without captions
(treatment 1 and 2) view Video A and Video B with captions
(treatment 1 only) view Video A with captions and Video B without captions
(treatment 2 only) view Video A without captions and Video B with captions

All participants take 2 multiple choice tests:

Video A M/C Question Test and Video B M/C Question Test

Would this be a one-way repeated measures ANOVA test, or a two-way multi-variate ANOVA, or something else?

Problem 2

Conduct analyses to answer the following research questions.

1. What effect does focused delayed (asynchronous) direct written corrective feedback have on grammatical accuracy in a new piece of writing?

2. What effect does focused immediate (synchronous) direct written corrective feedback have on grammatical accuracy in a new piece of writing?

3. Is there any difference in the effect of direct asynchronous and synchronous written feedback on grammatical accuracy in a new piece of writing?

The data set includes the students’ number (StNo), groups (1=SCF, 2=ACF, and 3=Control) and the scores for pre-, post, and delayed post-test.

Would this be a one-way repeated measures ANOVA test, or something else?

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Re: Which ANOVA to use? one-way repeated measures ANOVA test, or a two-way multi-vari

PROBLEM 1: this is a two-way design with interaction. Run Kolmogorov-Smirnov or other test to see if the distributions of Video A M/C scores and Video B M/C scores are the same. If yes, use repeated measures ANOVA. If not, use regular MANOVA (no repeated measures).

PROBLEM 2: three separate one-way repeated measures ANOVA, one for each question.
