which test to use?

#1
Hello everyone, Im a bit stuck as to which test i should be using for my analysis.

i have collected the reaction times of 35 participants.
There were 8 conditions and 8 trials for each condition.

There was:
RT to words before, RT to non-words before
RT to animal words before, RT to non animals words before
Then the participants had a break. after which they completed the same experiment again. conditions were:
RT to words after, RT to non-words after
RT to animal words after, RT to non-animal words after

i think i need to use an ANOVA but unsure which kind?
Also since i had 8 trials do i need to get a mean for these 8 trials and analyse this new variable?

any help is appreciated

Thanks
Clare

It might be helpful if you supply all the information that we request:

I have also moved your question to the Statistical Consulting section as I presume this is not homework related.

sorry didn't see that bit lol

My study tests the difference between animal and non-animal words, before and after watching a wild life documentary, there is also a control group which watches the news

the DV is the reaction time to the stimuli presented, the IV is group assigned?

The variables are being measured using a reaction time test to different stimuli, for example there would be a picture of a lion and a non-animal word the participant would be asked to press a key and this reaction time is recorded, similar to an Implicit association test.
