[AMOS] Negative variances despite admissibility test

Hi there,

I would really appreciate any help with this. In AMOS, I'm performing EFA. I have selected the Admissibility Test in the AMOS options. However, when I try to see the standardized direct effects, I still get a message saying that:

"This matrix could not be estimated because there is a nonzero posterior probability that some variance is zero or negative."

It then goes on to tell me to select the Admissibility Test, which I've already done.

Any help?

ditch AMOS?

(seriously, it's one nasty little piece of software and there are much better alternatives to it. a few are free!)
