Fully funded PhD Studentship

We have a funded PhD studentship available at the University of Leicester from October 2015.

This PhD project will aim to examine the epidemiology and health care utilisation of multimorbidity in the UK population with specific objectives to:

i) Assess the current burden of multimorbidity in primary care (prevalence and incidence and associated sociodemographic and lifestyle factors)
ii) Identify patterns of multimorbidity in the distribution of chronic diseases and overlapping between these clusters and to analyse age and gender specific differences in these patterns
ii) Assess the health care utilisation and associated health care costs of multimorbid adults in both primary and secondary care (primary care consultation rates, A & E admissions, inpatient admissions etc.)
