I have a database of 1500 records and I am are going to use the database for future use, if the inaccuracy of the data elements (eg. Date of birth of each record) is less than 5% (or accuracy is more than 95%). I am planning to get a simple random sample from the database and check with the original records of the subjects.
I used p=5, q=95, z=1.96 and l=5 and calculated the sample size using the simple random sample size calculation formula and found n=76.
Is this method of calculating sample size correct?
Thank you in advance.
