Repeated Measures Multivariate Table vs. MANOVA Multivariate Table

What is the difference between the SPSS multivariate table produced in a repeated-measures versus the SPSS multivariate table produced in a MANOVA? I took a variable with two time points and ran the repeated measures test, then used those same two as dependent variables in a MANOVA. Both tables provide the standard output, Pillai's Trace, Wilks' Lambda, etc., but of course the F-values and df are very different. I've done a very extensive review of repeated-measures and MANOVA and have done work using both, so there must be some obvious basic element I am overlooking. I'd also greatly appreciate any publications/research articles that would help explain further.
