Weather vs. Mood Research Statistics

What type of statistical test in SPSS should I use given the following survey I’m conducting. (survey below):

Hypothesis: An individual’s perception of increased sunlight in a day will correlate with a positive mood by self-report, compared to days of relatively less sunlight correlating with a negative mood.

Participants rate on a 1-10 scale how sunny it is outside. (Independent Variable is amount of perceived sunlight)

Participants then rate on a 1-10 scale how much they feel each the following mood items: (Dependent Variable)

Pleasant Mood Items- Active, Calm, Caring, Content, Happy, Lively, Loving, and Peppy.

Unpleasant Mood Items- Drowsy, Fed up, Gloomy, Grouchy, Jittery, Nervous, Sad, and Tired.

I know I could use a Pearson Coefficient Correlation Coefficient, which will be calculated for each 16 of the mood items: sunlight X mood item 1 active, sunlight X mood item 2 calm, sunlight X mood item 3 caring, etc until a reach sunlight x mood item 16 tired.

Although the Pearson Coefficient r-value will not show statistical significance, it will simply show a general scope of correlation.
What I really would like to know is what SPSS test could I use to find statistical significance?

I’m thinking about an independent T-test by which I could compares the means of 2 groups: Sunlight X scores of all unpleasant mood items. Sunlight X score of all unpleasant mood items. But does that make sense, and if so, is there a way to best organize data in SPSS?

Other test suggestions?

I feel stuck picking out a test to best represent the survey results. Thank you for your help.
